2018 Fair Schedule
The fair schedule is now live! We can’t wait to see you!
NO 2019 GREENE COUNTY FAIR
After 24 years of the Greene County Fair at its present location on Rt. 230, it ends. It saddens us that the landlord, Bill Eddins, will not renew our lease or honor the typo in the lease (which his attorney drew up) to allow us to have a 2019 fair, therefore, there will be no 2019 fair. The fair paid the landlord $8,113.56 a year in rent for the use of the land for ten days to be able to put on the fair, plus a cost of living each year.
This will leave a void in the financial planning for our fire departments, churches and other non-profit vendors each year. Therefore they will have to have other avenues to make up this money. The fair association has always made it our goal to keep as much money spent at the fair for local non-profit organizations.
There was always good food, good fellowship, great bluegrass music, great exhibits, (locally grown and handmade) carnival rides, and of course the livestock shows, which the young people work so hard to raise, show, and sell each year.
We wish to thank all of you who have participated by being sponsors, working as a volunteer, vendors and in so many other ways to make each year a great and successful fair.
Without the help of our volunteers and fairgoers, our fair would not have been successful. It takes many dedicated long hours of work to put on a fair. Our board of directors are not paid, they are dedicated in having a great fair each year for you to enjoy.
Again, we want to remind you that the County of Greene does not put on this fair nor do they provide any monies.
We are still hopeful that we will find somewhere else that is a suitable location for a fair in the future, The Board of Directors wish to thank you for your support for the past 24 years for a Greene County Fair on Rt. 230.
